Post Phase

Question and Answer Zoom call on Monday, June 9th 2025

Have you ever felt a desire to fast? Is there an area in your life where you long to submit more fully to God? Where is God calling for transformation in you? Fasting, when combined with a focus on God and His Word, brings about transformation and clarity. The ancient practice of fasting emerges as a powerful testament to self-discipline and spiritual focus.  Throughout Scripture, we encounter several individuals who embraced fasting not just as an act of denial, but as a profound means of drawing closer to God.  These individuals are proof of how abstaining from food can lead to transformative encounters with the divine.  During the Faith and Fasting Retreat, we will uncover the following individuals and their stories; stories of desperation, devotion, and revelation.

Moses:  Fasting for Spiritual Revelation (Exodus 34:28)

Elijah:  Fasting for Strength and Guidance (1 Kings 19:8)

Daniel:  Fasting for Clarity and Understanding (Daniel 10:2-3)

Esther:  Fasting for Courage and Deliverance (Esther 4:16)

Jesus:  Fasting to Resist Temptation (Matthew 4:2-3)

Paul:  Fasting for Spiritual Transformation (Acts 9:9)

As 2 Peter 2:19 reminds us, "People are slaves to whatever has mastered them." For many of us, food can become our master. Fasting involves giving up food (or another focus) for a time to center our thoughts on God.

This Faith and Fasting Retreat offers an opportunity to step away from the busyness of life, it opens space for a deeper, more intimate connection with God, leading to a more vibrant and dynamic spiritual life.  Each day you will experience; prepared meals, time to meditate on God’s Word, daily Soul Flow Yoga class, and free time for activities like hiking, soaking in a wood-burning sauna, or relaxing in a hot tub.

The retreat will begin THREE (6/1-6/3) days before your arrival, easing you into the experience by gradually eliminating certain foods from your diet. We will connect online each day before you travel. On the FOURTH day, you will journey to Iron Mountain (6/4-6/8), during which you will enjoy meals of Dahls and Kitchari, designed to ease digestion and cleanse your body. The “Purge” phase will continue at home on the following day, and you’ll receive guidance on how to gradually reintroduce foods into your diet. Throughout the retreat, you will have several options, such as a total fast, intermittent fasting, or an Ayurvedic cleanse, along with scientific, scriptural, and ancient Ayurvedic wisdom on the physical, mental, and spiritual effects of fasting. Cleansing creates the conditions for your body to naturally release toxins that may affect your emotions, mental clarity, and immunity.

Throughout the retreat, you’ll have the option to choose between a full fast, intermittent fasting, or an Ayurvedic cleanse. You’ll also learn about the scientific and ancient Ayurvedic wisdom surrounding fasting and its effects on the body. Cleansing allows the body to naturally release toxins, which can affect emotions, mental clarity, and immunity, setting the stage for overall well-being and spiritual renewal.
