Service Description
Have you always wanted to fast? Is there an area in your life that you want to submit more fully to God? Where does God want to transform you? What idols are keeping you from a deeper walk with Him? When we fast, and focus on God and His word, transformation happens; clarity happens. All throughout scripture we read about individuals who fasted to draw near to God. Second Peter 2:19 "People are slaves to whatever has mastered them." For some, food has become our master. Fasting is essentially giving up food (or something else) for a period of time in order to focus your thoughts on God. What has become a master in your life? This Faith and Fasting Retreat format allows you to escape the every day grind, have meals prepared for you, meditate on God’s word, Holy Yoga every morning, and FREE time to go exploring in the woods, or simply be alone. The retreat will begin THREE days prior to your arrival by slowly removing certain foods from your diet. Then, for FIVE days, while at Iron Mountain, we will prepare recipes of Dahl and Kitchari. The "Purge" phase of the experience will be done at home the following day. You will be given instruction prior to your return home on how to slowly re-introduce food back into your diet. During the retreat you will be given various options such as total fast, intermittent fasting or Ayurvedic cleanse routine, as well as scientific and ancient Ayurvedic wisdom of what happens to our bodies when we participate in this fast. Cleansing sets the stage for the body to naturally and gradually let go of the toxins that could affect emotions, mental clarity, and immune system.
